Terms of Use

The rules for using Unify during its pilot. Last updated 26 October 2026.

The short version

  • Unify is designed for university students and adult learners.
  • Unify is free during the pilot, and features may change.
  • Your content stays yours, and you can delete it any time.
  • Use Unify to study — not to cheat or to share course materials you don’t own.
  • Always double-check deadlines and exam details with your university.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Unify (“Unify”, “we”, “us”), the team behind the study companion at studywithunify.ae. By creating an account or using Unify, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Unify.

2. Who can use Unify

Unify is designed for university students and other adult learners. By creating an account, you confirm that you are one of them. Unify is not intended for children; if we learn that an account belongs to a child, we’ll close it and delete its data. Anyone can visit the website and try the demo, which uses fictional data and stays in your browser.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate information and keep your password safe. Don’t share your account — each account is for one person.
  • Use a password that’s different from your university password. Unify will never ask for your university password.
  • You’re responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, change your password and email us.

4. A pilot product

Unify is in an early pilot. Features may change, be added or removed, and sometimes not work as expected. Features marked as demo or simulated — such as the demo workspace and the university connection preview — are examples only and don’t connect to real university systems.

5. Your content

Everything you add to Unify — courses, notes, materials, plans and messages — stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and display it only so we can run Unify for you. You can delete it at any time.

Only add content you have the right to use. Lecture slides, readings and other course materials usually belong to your university or instructor; keep them for your own personal study and don’t use Unify to share them with others.

6. Using Unify responsibly

When you use Unify, you agree not to:

  • use it to cheat or break your university’s academic integrity rules — Unify is a study aid, not a way to complete assessed work for you;
  • try to access other people’s accounts or data, or test, probe or get around Unify’s security;
  • upload anything illegal, harmful, hateful or harassing, or malware of any kind;
  • send spam, overload the service, or use bots or scrapers on it;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer Unify.

7. Study tools and the assistant

Summaries, answers, practice questions, study plans and reminders are there to help you, but they can be incomplete or wrong. Always check important information — especially deadlines, exam details and grading — with your course materials, your instructors and your university’s official systems. Unify isn’t responsible for missed deadlines or academic outcomes.

8. Unify’s content

Unify’s name, logo, design and software belong to Unify. You may use them only to use Unify as intended. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Unify without owing you anything.

9. Suspending or closing accounts

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or Unify at risk; where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you why first. If we ever end the pilot, we’ll give you notice so you can keep a copy of your information.

10. Disclaimers

Unify is provided free of charge during the pilot, “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Unify won’t be liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, grades or opportunities arising from your use of Unify. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that can’t be limited by law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. If a dispute comes up, please contact us first — most problems can be solved quickly by talking to us.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Unify grows. We’ll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Unify after that, you accept the updated terms.
